This is not the latest Everquest Classic all in one pack anymore. Dont waste your money on it or you will end up spending another 40 dollars on the next expansion that contains this game and all the other past expansions.

New spells, new armor, new alternate abilites, and 5 additional character levels will help you become more powerful than ever! In Dragonscale Hills you’ll fight minotaurs and brownies. In the loping plains a curse has turned a local ranch to the home of Nightmares, undead roam a doomed circus, and worgs run rampant. Nearby the Wereorcs of Bloodmoon Keep and the undead of Hills of Shade are ready to claim unsuspecting travelers as victims. A gnomish cannon will launch you to the mechanical fortress of Meldrath the Malignant where millions of mechanical minions march.

And deep in a hidden temple, the most powerful dragon ever plots revenge on Norrath….

I played EQ for a number of years, and with this one product, I was able to return to EQ with all of the expansions released since I left the game.

EQ has many improvements for people who like to solo and run quick quests. This game is still the king of high end raid content, with more to do than most people will ever have time to experience.

While the graphics do not push the envelope with the pixels per square inch, this game has a tremendous variety of uniquely stunning artistic styles.

The Alternate Advancement points and wide range levels for grouping, provide character improvement for those willing to spend more time playing their toon, while still enabling friends to play together, even when some of the friends play far fewer hours per week.

    Good expansion, lots of content

EverQuest had some good additions with this expansion. The level cap was raised to 80, several new 70-75+ zones were added, and some of the new equipment is just astounding. My only complaint on the expansion content is that lower/mid level players were once again pushed aside (which happens most expansions) to appease the higher end game.

Some interesting changes were put in for everyone in the game at the same time of the expansion release, including a jewelrycraft revamp, more cultural armors/symbols (and a change to how you make them), and more alchemy potions for higher levels. Even research had its official change, with all the spells now being crafted using the old level 61+ spell methods (systematic spell research). These changes have made some tradeskilling quite a lot easier to achieve levels in, and makes playtime more diverse for everyone.

I would recommended this expansion to any current players or old players considering returning to the game. Even if you’ve only considered playing EverQuest but never tried it out before, now is a good time! The development team is finally putting effort into making gametime more enjoyable, and it’s worth it to check this out. :)

Excellent upgrade to the EverQuest series of pc games. SOE has outdone themselves this time. For anyone who enjoys RPG type games, EverQuest is for you. Bought this for my laptop to use when I am not at home.

Great game, but don’t waste your money on this package

EverQuest is the oldest of the 3D MMOs, and while it’s the largest it has shown it’s age for some time now. That does not, however, detract from the game. It’s still a great game, and with the latest expansion easier than ever to get started in.

That said, do not buy this package on Amazon– it does NOT include the latest expansion, which you will have to pay another $40 for once you create your account, which includes everything this one does. You will have thrown away $10 for nothing.

The last retail expansion of our beloved EverQuest
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
EverQuest’s 10th Anniversary is coming up on March 16th, 2009. If you’ve thought time and time again about coming back to Norrath or experiencing it for the first time, this is the way and now is the time. The latest expansion, Seeds of Destruction, came after Secrets of Faydwer. However, due to what SoD has brought to the table, there is really no reason to be concerned, as those without high level characters will be unable to enjoy the SoD content for quite some time. Another reason to purchase SoF, is the decision SoE has made to no longer offer expansions via retail. SoF is the last EverQuest expansion you will see in retail box form. Unless SoE has a change of heart, all following expansions will be digital downloads. Weigh your options. Spend $9.99 on Secrets of Faydwer, receive a physical retail box (again, the last), including your free month and all expansions except the most recent Seeds of Destruction, which you will not be participating in anytime soon. If missing the latest expansion concerns you, feel free to pay $39.99 for Seeds of Destruction, which includes your digital download, free month and that extra expansion that is good for…peace of mind?

I played Everquest from it’s launch in the late 90’s until just before the Luclin expansion was released. I quit because it was too much of a time sink- managing guild responsibilities while also handling a family, work, and a relationship is not very feasible. Recently I’ve found that I’ve had some spare time that I could spend on playing games- other games didn’t cut it. As any Classic Everquest player will tell you, you will never find a game that gets you as into the game as much as Everquest does. I decided on purchasing this software and starting a new account instead of resuming my old account, because new players get a free month of service. If I didn’t like it, then hey- with the monthly subscription fee being around $15, I only paid $15 for the software.

After installing every Everquest expansion made to date, I was pleasantly surprised- several of the old world zones have been tweaked to provide a better play experience- zones designed for 10 year old technology tend to get quite stale. Many, many other elements have been added to the game since it has launched- I do admit, I was a little overwhelmed at first, but once you get the hang of it all, you will be amazed.

The reason I originally quit Everquest was because it was not casual player friendly- you will find that all of the enhancements that the newer expansions have added other options for players that wish to live the solo life. No more waiting for a group for a crowded, cramped dungeon- you can find your own adventures on your own time.

I have not experienced any of the high end content of this expansion; however for new or returning players, I can assure you that this is still a great game and it is definitely owed a try. Try it out- you have a free month!

The reason I gave the game 4 stars is because the developers seem to have focused a lot on the new zones- while I appreciate that they have revamped some of the older zones such as Freeport, the Commonlands, etc, I feel that they definitely should revamp ALL of the original zones to match the newer zones in art style. The textures in the old world are so compressed and grainy, it makes it very difficult to see what you are doing when playing in the zones with a high resolution monitor + video card.

    ALL 14 expansions to date!!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
For those of you who don’t know, Everquest: Secrets of Faydwer contains ALL 14 of 14 expansions since the very beginning of Everquest over 8 years ago. It is a great deal especially if you are behind a few expansions or want to play a really fun, challenging, well thought-out and implemented game. Although, when the last expansion came out, SONY only offered this product. So, if you had all 13 expansions before this one, you still had to pay $39.99. Go figure, bring back the old Everquest players but screw the loyal ones in the process. Now they offer the 14th expansion, Secrets of Faydwer for $9.99. But for all those people who wanted to upgrade in the first 2 months (the last expansion came out in November 2007)….BAM!

    Great Value!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is one of the best values of any MMORPG available even to date. In March 2009, Sony intends on launching a brand new server and there is no better way to get started if you’re new to the game than the Secrets of Faywder expansion!

Includes EverQuest and 14 expansions along with an in-game mount for each account. Cheaper to buy a copy of SoF than reactive an account and pay the first month!
